Prachinburi, Thailand\u2013 10 February 2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

EG Industries Berhad (\u201cEG Industries, EG or the Group\u201d), <\/strong>a leading Malaysian electronics manufacturing and upstream component total solutions provider, today marked a significant milestone with the ground-breaking ceremony for its new manufacturing facility at 304 Industrial Park in Prachinburi, Thailand<\/strong>, undertaken by its wholly-owned subsidiary, SMT Industries Co., Ltd. (\u201cSMTI\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Yothin Pong-or, Mayor of the Tha Tum Subdistrict Administrative Organization (TAO)<\/strong>, Dato\u2019 Alex Kang<\/strong>, Group Chief Executive Officer of EG Industries Berhad<\/strong>, and Mr. Kittiphan Chitpentham<\/strong>, Chief Executive Officer of 304 Industrial Park Co., Ltd<\/strong>., alongside other representatives from local government authorities, senior management of EG and SMTI, as well as key stakeholders including banking partners, customers and suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new facility is being developed following EG\u2019s proposed acquisition of an industrial land parcel in Prachinburi, which was undertaken in response to requests from new U.S.-based customers, as well as anticipated demand from the local telecommunications data centre sector, for the Group to establish additional manufacturing capacity in Thailand <\/strong>to support the production of electricity storage components, electric vehicle-related products and data centre applications. The factory is also designed to meet stringent customer-specific requirements, including operational segregation and confidentiality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As previously announced on 23 January 2026, the proposed acquisition involves a freehold industrial land measuring approximately 20,044 square meters, located within<\/p>\n\n\n\n

304 Industrial Park, Prachinburi, at a total purchase consideration of approximately THB47 million. Following the acquisition, SMTI plans to construct a single-storey factory, with the total estimated land and construction cost of approximately THB360 million. The proposed acquisition and construction will be funded through a combination of internally generated funds and bank borrowings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The construction of the new factory is expected to be completed by end of 2026, barring unforeseen circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
